I used to think that fashion was something that was “superficial” but i realized that it can be a form of true radical self expression and art form. I also realized that there is something special about matching clothes with our babies or family members or partner or best friend! I used to wear all of the same clothes with both of my sisters growing up and I actually loved it! I now love wearing matching clothes with Hiro and Andrew Horn and Radha and my friends. It’s another connection / bond that forms.
It’s no wonder uniforms or themes make people feel connected in a deeper way, even if it can seem superficial. Some people feel silly and self conscious matching with friends or family but I say YES to matchy matchy in all the ways and letting our freak flags fly with fashion :-)
I’ve had a few people show me the way when it comes to fashion and taste: Betty Kay and Tasya van Ree – I salute you!
